I was working in Nevada in my twenties when I ran into some gambling issues. While trying to figure out to pay off my debts I was approached by a man who told me that if I gave him information he would lower my debt to a more managable amount. At the time I worked at the DMV. He'd call me, give me a plate number and I'd give him all the details of the registered owner. Sometimes he'd call and give me a name and I'd search to find any vehicles regi'd to the name. I did this for him for almost six years.
Only once did I recognize a name in the news as one he'd ask me to look up. That was the first time I felt guilty. Looking back I can not imagine the damage I might have helped cause.
